What to Expect

Doctor Erickson sees only one patient at a time.

His full attention is given to his patient during their appointment time.

Gentleness
You can expect to be treated with great care, professional skill and focused attention during your visits. Several times a week, Doctor Erickson receives compliments from his patients about his very gentle manner, and about his habit of explaining each step as he operates. We have found that these methods greatly reduce fear and anxiety, and ease the patient through the procedures.

New Patient Exam
As a new patient, you'll receive a comprehensive examination that will include a full series of xray films, a thorough evaluation and documentation of your teeth and their existing restorations, and an initial dental cleaning. Doctor Erickson will look closely to confirm health and identify any problems.

A Special Camera
Doctor Erickson uses an intraoral fiber optic video camera wand to look inside your mouth. This technology makes it possible to see intraoral areas and features in a highly magnified and illuminated way not normally possible otherwise. This video scan is visible on a TV screen as Doctor Erickson works, so the patient can see the full color, live, real-time images of their teeth and other intraoral tissues.

Doctor Erickson will also focus on measuring the health and fitness of your gum tissues, as well as examine the other skin areas inside the mouth, and scrutinize the xray films to complete the overall examination.

Your own personal plan
When all of this is complete, Doctor Erickson will decide on a treatment plan designed especially for you. Based on the health of your gum tissues, Doctor Erickson will determine your need for any further cleaning procedures, as well as how often you should have checkups and cleanings. He'll also determine any need for Restorative Dentistry (the treatment of damaged, decayed or missing teeth), and then he will discuss this plan with you and make sure that all of your questions are answered.

When you're ready to go ahead, we'll make the necessary appointments to complete any needed Dental treatments and restorations.

Urgent Problems
We can "squeeze you in" usually the same day. Doctor Erickson will provide treatment to stabilize or resolve these urgent problems first, then (if you're a new patient) will recommend a full examination and xray films to help minimize any new urgent problems arising unexpectedly.

Checkups and Continuing Care
For our established patients, Doctor Erickson provides gentle but thorough dental cleanings. For many, this "checkup" visit is to prevent gum disease. For others, it is to treat active gum disease in an effort to stop it from getting worse. A thorough re-examination is an important part of these visits.

Currently Accepting New Patients
Our best new patients come by personal referral from our established patients. We consider it a compliment, and it gives us great satisfaction to know that our patients believe in our services enough to recommend us to their family, friends and relatives.

Restorative Dentistry
Restorative Dentistry means the treatment of damaged, decayed or missing teeth. Doctor Erickson holds to the highest standards of the Dental profession, and believes in providing his patients with the finest quality dental restorations, preventive services and therapeutic treatments. Financial Information
We provide Dental treatment on a fee-for-service basis, and we are accustomed to sending our patients a monthly statement of account. We accept credit cards, checks, cash and money orders as methods of payment. For any treatment plan or treatment phase over $2000, we require a 50% initial payment with full payment by the completion of the treatment plan or treatment phase. A service charge is made on amounts owed past 90 days.

Dental Insurance
You can always go to the Dentist of your choice, no matter what dental insurance you may have. The question is whether you will have benefit coverage for the treatment you receive from Dr. Erickson. Just be sure that your policy allows you to choose any Dentist. We will handle all the paperwork for the claims as a service to you; and we will do all we can to maximize your insurance benefits. All insurance benefit payments are paid directly to this office, and are posted to your account.

Doctor Erickson is a participating Doctor with ODS and other Delta Dental insurance plans.

Dental Specialists
When it's in the best interest of the patient, Doctor Erickson will refer the patient to Dental Specialists for treatment when it is needed.

Safety and Quality Control
To assure the health and safety of our patients, we use the most advanced sterilization systems available. Materials not autoclavable are disposed of after use.
